What to Expect After Your Purchase
What to Expect After Your Purchase
Made the purchase and are satisfied with your choice, but don't know what's going to happen next? Don't worry, we have you covered. The main and hardest part is already out of the way, ahead lie only fun times, countless miles with your new vehicle, every one of them with a smile on your face.
Here's what will happen right after your purchase, i.e. what you should expect. We'll go over every step of the process separately, to keep you as informed and up-to-date as possible. You can also find a more detailed guide here.
The Documents
All of the necessary documents needed to assist you with registering your newly purchased vehicle will be available within just 2 weeks.
Although we recommend customers pick these documents up themselves, we can arrange delivery by first class mail if you're too far or can't come down to the dealer personally. If you're still unsure about something, send us an email or give us a call and we'll gladly assist you, just like we always do.
Unlikely Delays
Although we try and get things done as soon as possible, sometimes delays are inevitable. If there is any sort of issue preventing processing, whether it's the payment, the loan contract, the trade title or the trade payoffs, just note that documents can occasionally be delayed. Though it's not that common, it can happen from time to time. Naturally, we will let you know about possible delays as soon as we get information ourselves.
In the event the process drags on for longer than 30 days, the maximum amount of time you have to register your car the state allows before charging a $25 fee, we will give you an additional notification over the phone.
For Leased Vehicles
If you leased your car, you have to forward an insurance card reflecting the new purchase as soon as possible. It's not just a matter of convenience, because it affects certain laws and legislations. We'll get you the plates and notify you as soon as we acquire them.
Remember, personal property tax is assessed in very much the same way as financed or cash transactions, but the bill will come to you from the lease company rather than the state/county.
